SIX SHOOTER RECORDS BRINGS SHAKEY GRAVES TO CANADA: AND THE WAR CAME OUT OCTOBER 7, 2014.
“More than just a stage name for a seriously talented flatpicker and songwriter…Shakey Graves is becoming an antifolk phenomenon. Unclassifiably original. And frighteningly good.”
Thus proclaimed NPR Music of the one-man-band known as Shakey Graves in 2012. The lo-fi vibe of Shakey Graves’ bluesy debut, Roll the Bones, immediately attracted the attention of tastemakers who pegged the Austin artist as a Next Big Thing faster than you can say longhorn.
Now, Shakey Graves offers his sophomore album And The War Came, an expansion of his DIY solo sound to include additional musicians, instruments and a broader approach to music-making on the whole. The first taste, the jittery, kinetic song “Dearly Departed,” is a brashly poppier offering, and reflects the artist’s stated objective to explore a fuller, shinier sound.

Shakey Graves is no stranger to Canada. He’s already played Edmonton Folk Fest, Winnipeg Folk Fest, Burnaby Roots & Blues, Montreal Jazz Fest, Ottawa Blues Fest and TURF. He has toured the Maritimes with Old Crow Medicine Show, and played select shows with Shovels and Rope.
Six Shooter Records is excited to bring Shakey Graves to Canadian audiences. And The War Came will be out on October 7, 2014. Canadian tour dates detailed below. Only limited tickets remain for most shows.
