Out now, Boy Golden’s For Eden unfolds with stories from the heart, head and driver’s seat of his forever beloved 1995 Toyota Previa. Written and recorded some time ago and carried around in his proverbial pocket, For Eden arrives here in its original form, ten songs recorded to cassette. On For Eden, Boy Golden dreams of making music, making a living, and making the most of it all. And, in the years since its creation, this is what he’s done. Paradise is progress.

Utopic and wistful, the album searches for the perfect place to be. From the Manitoba highways of “Here To Stay” to the streets of  Amsterdam (“The Way,”), from wishing things would never change (“Mesmerized”) to yearning for things to be different (“Boy”), For Eden finds Boy Golden on the move. Paradise is process.

Travel to Eden, or somewhere like it, in a new video for “Mesmerized,” directed by Little Jack Films. A trip up Boy Golden’s mountain road to the very same cabin of the album origin brings lake sparkles and wildflowers, banjos and bonfires. Paradise is personal.

Primarily crafted with banjo, tenor guitar and mandolin, For Eden’s cosmic cabin of sound blends all of Boy Golden’s bluegrass, country, folk and indie inclinations into a sweetly rustic assemblage. The result is a set of candidly captured analog recordings that belongs as much to contemporary music as it does to the classics.

“I am so happy to have For Eden out in the world,” says Boy Golden. “This album represents artistic success for me; rough-hewn recordings in an age of slickly manicured digital lives. This album holds no punches. It is more personal than I ever intended a Boy Golden album to be. I hope it moves people in their own way.”

For Eden is out now on Six Shooter Records.

ABOUT BOY GOLDEN

Boy Golden is Liam Duncan and a revolving cast of longtime friends and collaborators known as the Church of Better Daze (many formidable artists in their own right) including FONTINE, Austin Parachoniak, Roman Clarke, Dani Nash and more. Boy Golden found success on his debut LP, Church of Better Days, with breakout hit “KD and Lunch Meat” hitting #1 at Canadian Alternative radio. Subsequent tours saw sell-outs across the country, a festival headline play at Winnipeg Folk Fest, slots at Osheaga, Edmonton and Calgary Folk Festivals, Rifflandia, Saskatoon Jazz Festival and more, demonstrating Boy Golden’s ability to be a musical chameleon and fit in just as well at a country festival as he does at a rock show. The last year saw the band touring across the US with the Paper Kites and Lucero, and a breakout slot at AmericanaFest in 2023 resulting in being signed by talent giant WME. Liam is also a producer and prolific songwriter, collaborating with William Prince, Leith Ross, Cat Clyde, FONTINE, and many more.
